Commodity Analyst

Principal Duties/Responsibilities:
· Manages assigned supplier relationships.
· Manages some aspects of the development, bid evaluation, negotiation, and execution of contracts with assigned suppliers.
· Helps identify and negotiate contract opportunities, leveraging the buying power of the organization in order to lower the cost of procurement of goods and services.
· Follows a strategic sourcing process for selecting vendors that provides the best value for meeting ATS’s requirements.
· Supports the Sourcing Manager to ensure supplier and internal compliance to contracts.
· Maintains Commodity metrics.
· Supports Data Integrity efforts for strategic commodities.
· Makes recommendations to enhance business processes and identifies opportunities to improve operational efficiencies.
· Provides backup support for purchasing as needed.
· Completes ad hoc projects as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSAs), & Competencies:
Essential KSAs:
· Bachelor's degree and two or more years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Two years of purchasing experience.
· Two years of experience with SAP or equivalent ERP program/application.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Access.
· Strong analytical, interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills coupled with a demonstrated ability to work effectively on teams with multiple projects.
· Travel will be required (up to 30% of time).
Desirable KSAs:
· Two to four years of experience in a manufacturing organization
· Two to four years working experience with extracting data and transacting in ERP systems
· Expertise utilizing SAP or equivalent ERP program/application, Excel, Power BI/BW
· Supply chain processes in a manufacturing environment with the ability to summarize and interpret large volumes of data into reports

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands/fingers to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch; and talk or hear. The employee is also required to use a telephone with headset for verbal troubleshooting, frequent use of a standard keyboard and computer to document calls in a ticketing system, and occasional use of other office equipment. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 30 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to sit for long periods and use close and color vision. Work is typically performed in a moderately noisy business office.
